There are people in
our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine
and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that
extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and
teachers came to see each other in a new light.
Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how
we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'
"On behalf of Alberta's teachers, thank you, parents for all you have done over the last 18 months
to help support learning to continue."
– Jason Schilling, ATA President

Thank you for going the extra mile to truly understand your students. All of them! Especially the ones who need a little extra support with emotional regulation and patience.
You go above and beyond, and everything you is appreciated beyond measure!
We won’t go far without your work with our youngsters…and employers will be smart to support your work instead of denigrate it.
And our government really has to pick it up! Their lack of understanding of what you do outside of work hours…let alone what you do in the school all day…is infuriating to me.
Know that we support you! We will keep up the fight to support your work.
My sister was a special ed. teacher and the love, devotion and nurturing she gave her students was amazing. A job I couldn’t do.
I remember all my K-12 teachers, even though I am 71 now. The one who helped and nudged me on to a lifelong love of reading. The one who made math fun-it became so easy, became my favourite subject.
I admire all that you do. Thanks.
be difficult times, but they can be overcome, and hopefully you can enjoy
many more gloriously successful ones. Good luck. It’s a tough job you’re doing.
They helped me in so many ways, always making time for me if I needed it.
