Teachers give me hope in this world.

A big ‘thank-you’ to all school teachers across Canada, your hard work and commitment impacts lives.

This is a shout out to all of the “sub teachers” who go into a variety of class rooms and work hard to do a job in a class with kids they just meet at the time. Hats off to you all! Without you some teachers would not be able to use the time they have for meetings, etc because no one could fill in

Thank you teachers! You make a real difference in the world by helping children, and all others who come to you, learn the basics of the printed word. From there you go on to help them gain knowledge of mathematics, science and all the wonders to be found in books, on line, and in nature around them. Keep up the good work!

I had some outstanding teachers! Because of them, I decided to become a teacher myself. I’m retired now, and I look back on a wonderful fulfilling career. Many of my former students are now my Facebook friends and I continue to feel gratified by the part I was privileged to play in their lives.

Your work as a teacher has not been a dream, it has been a choice! Thank you for making this choice for children!

To my Basketball coach, the best ever, for making me a player who has continued to love the sport; it kept me interested in school and I became a teacher, the best career ever! Thanks to all my teachers!

Thank you to classroom teachers, administrators, assistants, secretaries, facility operators, and all others who support the important work of teaching and learning for our students. The work you do is vital to the fabric of our society.

Teachers Inspire, encourage, support, and find a way to reach and communicate with our children on an individual basis. Words cannot express my thanks!

Thank you Mrs. Effie Spohn, (St,Thomas Aquinas, Red Deer 1962. ) You were the rare combination of an efficient and compassionate teacher and in my 38 years of teaching I tried hard to emulate you.

You are the best!
We can’t thank you enough for your dedication and going the extra mile for our children and grandchildren, especially during this pandemic.

We appreciate and recognize the tremendous effort and dedication teachers have made transitioning from classroom to on-line learning and back all without the support of the Provincial Government. Putting yourselves on the front line again this year in a fourth wave unaware of which students may be in your class with the virus. You are amazing!

I couldn’t be happier than to commend the members of a profession which does not receive enough appreciation in the larger public sense OR enough financial compensation for all of the accomplishments and commitment of those members. Their rewards lie in their students’ love for them and the appreciation offered by parents of those students. I continue to have wonderful memories of teachers I had in days long ago. Bless their hearts and bless the hearts of those engaged in a noble profession in these trying times! Thank you!

Teachers touch our lives in so many ways. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to these amazing people and their families who give so much so a teacher can teach.

Mrs Zdennia Berezan, my grade one teacher back in 1963, and then in no particular order: Mrs Gau, Mr. Litwin and Herman the white rat, Sister Leola Ann, Mr. David Ross, Mr. Spee, Mr. Sikora, Dr. Rothrock (U of A History), Dr. Chris Diachuk, Dr. Lorraine Court, Mr. Robert Simonowits. There are so many, many more.

To my children and grandchildren’s teachers; you had/have my kids back. I will always be grateful.

Thank you to all my friends and colleagues who taught with me over my own 40 year career. I learned so much from you.

I want to thank three important teachers who each contributed to my success as a person and as a professional. Mike Yuras taught me to “give” without expecting anything in return. Neil Sherlock taught me to give my all in order to succeed. And Carl Crouse taught me to believe in myself even when others did not. I was a high school student at Nutana Collegiate Institute (Saskatoon) in the early 60’s and these three teachers had a profound influence on me. Their lessons stay with me in my life and served me well in my career. Words are inadequate to properly express my appreciation.

Thank you for all you do! In difficult times you dig in, you show up and in many cases you are the rock, the support, the person that’s there listening. You are so important to your students, their families and colleagues. Remember that. Thank you.

Thank you to my grade 5 teacher Mrs.Ungaro. You made learning fun and made me love everyday in your classroom. As a teacher now, I try to make each one of my students feel as important and loved as you made me feel. I know you are missed by many after your passing, but you made an impact that will carry your legacy on.

Thank you to all my public school teachers,
There has been a lot of them over the years and if I were to recount every experience I had learning within the public school system I would be here forever. I am thankful to my bilingual elementary school teachers for me how to read and write in both Chinese and English. I am thankful for the basics that I have retained over the years that were carefully taught and exposed by the same teachers I credited above. The importance of providing that education is understood by the government is unfortunately not recognized, but I hope you guys remember that all the extracurricular efforts invested will never be forgotten. Sometimes society forget teaching isn’t simply delivering academic resources, but also to create human bonds with a pupil to properly guide to the right doors. I want to thank my junior high school teachers for teaching me how to love learning again, and the importance of listening. I want to thank them for showing me that listening is valued everywhere, and it does not mean imposing boundaries and trampling on self-respect. I want to thank my high school teachers for teaching me to love math, sciences, social, and English. I want to thank my teachers who helped me develop my passion for social-studies, and taught me that writing is a critical portion that also matures over time with good care. I want to thank my sciences & math teachers who taught me that patience is everything when it comes to observing and applying new knowledge. I also want to thank them for teaching me about the physical world around me, how it needs to be cared for and contains surprises to ensure you are a learner for life. But mostly, I do want to thank all my teachers who went above and beyond to create meaningful connections that inspired to be a learner and discover finer things life that I hope to pursue as much as I can.

I am sorry to hear how teachers are treated by the government, and I hope globally we realize the important role and power that teachers have as guidance for the next generations.

My teachers instilled a love of reading and learning. Today, physical handicaps prevent me from moving around very much, but reading flies me to many distant lands . I am free from pain and enjoying meeting all the new and wonderful people in these far countries. Teachers gave me wings.
