I had so many positive interactions with teachers during my school years. Because of those experiences, I enrolled in the Faculty of Education. After 40 years in schools and division office, I witnessed countless amazing teachers making a difference. Thank you to our teachers for making such an impact on students.

What would we do without out great inspiring teachers today? Keep. Up the great work you are all doing under these trying circumstances. Thanks to each one of you near and far!

I saw it years ago when my kids were in school; I see it now with my grandchildren in school: teachers have impact! Their impact goes beyond the classroom, beyond the grade, beyond the school…and is carried into the community today, tomorrow and for years to come. Thank you, one and all!

Dear teachers, what a crazy almost two years it has been!! Through it all, you have kept your focus on your students, their learning and their well-being, as you navigate craziness and unbelievable teaching conditions. Your students are so blessed to have you! My wish for you is that you can let go of some of the volunteer ‘jobs’ that teachers have traditionally taken on that sometimes take away from the work you do with kids and from your own time and energy. Please make self-care a priority so that you can continue your great work with our kids and I will continue to advocate for decent working and learning conditions for you and your students. I am a retired elementary school teacher. I cannot imagine the stress and strain on teachers these past two years. You have my utmost respect and gratitude for your hard work on behalf of Alberta’s children and youth. My grandchildren are thriving at school (and last year on-line) due to your dedication to education (and despite our provincial government’s fumbling). I thank you on World Teachers’ Day and everyday.

Wanted to share my immense gratitude for my current and former teachers, and my current teacher colleagues that work in the profession. I think it’s a front row seat to the greatest show on earth!

Thank you to all Alberta teachers for your exceptional efforts to educate students during the Covid crisis. You have been on the front lines without enough government support or recognition. You have made students a priority and adapted to numerous changing and difficult circumstances. In many cases you have put your own health at risk by entering classrooms where some or all students are unvaccinated. Although it may appear that your efforts go unnoticed, you are making a significant difference in the lives and futures of our most precious resource.

Kudos to all the Wolf Creek teachers for carrying on spite of the challenges with covid 19.

Thank you teachers! Even though I’m almost 20 years out of high school, I can still hear my math teacher’s voice loud and clear:

“Expand your horizons!”
“Nose to the grindstone!”

I remember her jumping up on a desk to just really make sure we were paying attention to those messages.

As students, we couldn’t help but catch the wave of your enthusiasm. Thank you!
