our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'

    David Jeffares, my grade 8 teacher, was instrumental in my decision to become a University researcher and teacher. He welcomed a shy country boy into his city class in the middle of the year and convinced him that he could catch up and do will on miss term exams that started in 8 days time. Will always remember him.

    Thanks to all teachers for going to school every day through these tough times. I have a daughter and two granddaughters who are teaching in very unsafe conditions….no ventilation…no windows…over-crowded classrooms and they work at least one day of every weekend preparing or marking. Wish the media would show the real problems teachers have to put up with…not every child is even teachable, unfortunate, but true! Every teacher deserves a bonus this year!👌💕

Your dedication to the betterment of student needs is awesomely respected and appreciated in the finest way forward.     As an Educational Assistant I saw what teachers go thru every day and respect what they do. Having one or two children in your family at times is hard to manage. Try handling 20+ children, for the good part of a day! Was always nice to go home and give my kids an extra hug, praise or smile!

    I want to thank all teachers past and present for being my colleagues, my child’s teachers and now my grandchildren’s teachers (Laurier Gr 1 and Vic Gr 5). Teaching was always wonderful and fulfilling for me. That does not mean it was easy. And I think teaching these days has equally difficult challenges albeit somewhat different and more complex. Really, I can’t imagine a more difficult time than now to be a teacher—and a more worthwhile time to be one, if one can. Well, my grandchildren love their teachers, which says “lots and lots” about how hard they are working. So, I congratulate and THANK our TEACHERS!
