There are people in
our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'
"On behalf of Alberta's teachers, thank you, parents for all you have done over the last 18 months to help support learning to continue."
– Jason Schilling, ATA President

Thank you to all the wonderful teachers I had when I was a student and for being an inspiration for me before becoming a teacher myself. I also want to thank my students who made my entering the profession totally rewarding.

Thank you, Coleen Ring, for introducing Random Acts of Kindness to me and St. James. You have been a good friend…listening to my venting, showing me how to be a kind listener, and being a model in caring for loved ones. I miss you during this CoVid season and am anxiously awaiting a face to face meeting.

    To all Teachers and Administrators,

Thank you for your contribution to our children and society as a whole. Teaching is never the easiest profession but it is even more difficult and probably more stressful than ever before. Your courage and professionalism helps build the better future that politicians talk about.

All the best to you all,

    George Edwards

Thank you for going above and beyond every day in your classroom! And, in particular, thank you for being there during this pandemic, despite the appalling conditions and lack of support you have endured! You are heroes!!!

Thank you to all teachers and school administrators who were stretched to the limit due to Covid-19 and the ever-changing rules imposed on education due to the pandemic. I really don’t think that if I had still been teaching last school year, I would have been able to do what you did for our grandchildren and all students. Kudos to you all and kudos to the students as well as the parents! You all rose to the task with a job well done!

    Dear Teachers,
Thank you for your unwavering support for our students over the past year! As a retired teacher, the wife of a retired teacher, the mother of a teacher, and the grandmother of a Preschool student, I have witnessed your dedication, professionalism, and your very hard work!
    Truly appreciated!❤️

My wife is a teacher and has worked very hard. She has spent the last year at home teaching our oldest and helping him with online learning trough the pandemic and looking after our other two children. She has done so well and always strives to be the best she can be.

All teachers deserve a huge thank you for all you do each day for all of your students. During these very demanding times of the pandemic you perform your duties most days with little or no thanks. Here is a big thank you from a grateful grandmother.

I don’t have children, but I have many friends who do. They have told me about the enormous challenges teachers have faced, teaching during the pandemic; let alone facing cuts by the Kenney government! Thank you for all you do!

I cannot thank my children’s teachers enough for their creativity, endless effort and dedication to true connection and care. My kids are so fortunate to be guided through their school years by educators who recognize the value of their influence and the importance of their roles in our children’s lives.

Su Kerslake we are so proud of how devoted you are to the children in your care. You not only teach them, you love them, feed them , clothe some of them and even help their parents with form filling etc.

    Take care of yourself, please!

I’d like to thank my first grade teacher Mrs. Moëtz for teaching a little girl to love to read. She inspired me to go on to become an Early Childhood teacher and hopefully I taught other children to read and enjoy books as much as I have throughout my lifetime. She opened a magical world for me. The teachers through Covid have demonstrated their devotion to education and the safety of their students. I’ like to thank them and tell them how appreciated their efforts are.

Thanks Professor McVey. I never said one word in your class but you once wrote a comment on my essay ‘I like your smile’. It meant the world to me.

Heather Rootsaert was one of the most inspirational and foreword thinking teacher I ever had. I realize she must have been a brand new teacher in the 90s, but you’d never have known given the excellent experience she provided us. She is one of my many inspirations as to why I became a teacher.
