There are people in
our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'
"On behalf of Alberta's teachers, thank you, parents for all you have done over the last 18 months to help support learning to continue."
– Jason Schilling, ATA President

I want to thank all the teachers for their hard work and dedication to their profession. The hours they put in for the children is un heard of in any other profession. Thank you

It’s a little embarrassing thanking myself for being such a great teacher, but you asked me to say something nice about teachers. Al, you did a great job getting students to enjoy the beauty of the English language …you made poetry come alive and students still come up to me 50 years later to quote the lines that I made them memorize. Thank you for being me.

You do a very important job, one that most people don’t think about at all. The future influences and effects on society that a well funded education system with great teachers create are some of the most important and least recognized. Keep up the great work.

Although not a teacher, I have been fortunate to been married to one for 54 years. I always thought that the only thing as tough as teaching is being married to one. After sharing with her all the good and (sometimes) bad times that go into a teachers working life I have nothing but great admiration for anyone choosing this career. Keep up the good work,

Teaching has become so much more in the last couple of years because of Covid. You are doing an amazing job!! Don’t let anyone tell you you are not. Remember without teachers we would not have the Dr.’s, Nurses, and every other healthcare worker.
    Keep up the great job!!
    THANK YOU!!!

I was a teacher in ordinary times and it was challenging, exciting, totally absorbing. You teachers are working through these extraordinary times, times with no support from your ultimate boss, the premier and his minions, times of terrible threat to human life, times with destructive instructions on curriculum, times with no contact tracing to help isolate the illness, and you keep on! It is outstanding. I thank you along with the massive majority of citizens, parents, children in Alberta. We are afflicted by an electoral system from the 19th century that makes elections an assault. Thank you for your devoted work to insist on modern solutions, modern appropriate curriculum, modern health regulations! Thank you all.

Miss Smith I wish you were still around so I could tell this in person and bring you the homemade toffee you would ask for. Thank you for all you did for my son. You were there to take him to games when I was working or with his younger sibling. You made such a difference in his life. I was heartbroken when I heard you had been taken too soon.

Having taught from 1978 to 2017, I know how much effort you all put into making your students into the best people they can be but last school year and this school year have taken you to your very limits. Please know that there are many, many, many people who appreciate your extra effort during these unusual times. Stay safe, we need you for our childrens future.
