our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'

    I appreciate Alberta’s public teachers! You do such amazing work, and are asked to go above and beyond every day.
    Make your union fight for you to get actual full breaks during your workday. Manning recess is not a break. Make the ATA work for you, teachers, not the employer.

    I’d like to thank teachers for their bravery and unending commitment to students. This year the government decided to let you start with no masks or Covid precautions, yet you carried on. Full class sizes, highly contagious delta variant. You are true heroes. Thankyou for being on the front lines. Alberta is so lucky to have you!

    My parents are teachers. They are my favourite teachers as they both teach me. They love and support me. The other teacher who inspired me was Donna Richards from St. Brendan. She cared and made me feel valued in her class.

    Mr.Koufogiannakis, your passion for music, the arts and teaching were inspirational. The music programs in Junior High and High School created some of my fondest memories. You help mould me into the person I am today. Thank you, Mr. K, for being a fabulous educator and an advocate for the arts.

    The immense pressure and forced flexibility that our teachers have endured over the last year, as they navigated the covid waters, is unimaginable. Between trying to teach online, in-class, and being shut down while trying to create a stress free, fun learning environment for our kiddos would be incredibly challenging and is something that most of us cannot understand. I want to extend my upmost thankfulness and gratitude to our teachers. ❤ Thank you for everything that you do everyday for our kiddos, you are impacting our future generation.

    Thank you for attending funerals, buying groceries, clothing etc for kids without.
    Thank you for the hugs, kind words, encouragement and love you bring to your students on a daily basis!

    Hello, my daughter who started grade 3 this year has the most amazing teacher ever. I’m not just saying it myself but as my daughter saying this as well. She is so compassionate to not only each student needs but listens and cares to each parent as well. She is the only teacher by far who broke down tin the parent/ teacher interviews on what the goal of learning/expectations in each subject. Unfortunately with low numbers of grade 3 students this year at the school, the 2 grade 3 classes got merged and this beautiful soul of a teacher got moved to a different grade. Not only is this hard on each kids emotions, it’s hard on the parents and the teacher herself. This teacher has always gone above and beyond her role and deserves the most recognition. She has a heart of good! She will never be forgotten as in a short few weeks of knowing her, she has touched our hearts.

    I can’t Thank the Teachers, principles, councillors, and support staff enough.
    They have taken on such an enormous burden. They have had funding removed and supports removed but much more work added with out any thanks from the government.
    You have had to deal with frustrated parents and stressed out kids . You have had to try teach on line while dealing with your family and kids.
    You are heroes and you are doing great works despite our provincial government .
    Keep up your amazing great work and vote for a public supportive
    Government.

    The teacher I want to thank will also be celebrating a birthday on Oct. 5! For 20 years, I have and will continue to be honoured to call this person my sister, my friend, my confidante. À peer who continuously teaches me about kindness and tolerance and courage. I’ve not seen her in 6+ years, but everyday I think of her, and the life-lessons she has shared with me💗

    Thanks to the many amazing teachers I had, I became a teacher.
    Thank you to the tremendous people who taught and still teach my own babies.
    Thank you to the phenomenal colleagues who have withstood everything thrown at them in the last 18+ months. Who have pivoted so many times your heads are still spinning when the next pivot comes. The people who have run interference so kids can learn in the classroom, at home, blended, on the phone, for two weeks here and two weeks there. The brave souls who have shown up no matter what, ready to do it all again the next day, the next month, the next year.
    You are my heroes!
