There are people in
our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'
"On behalf of Alberta's teachers, thank you, parents for all you have done over the last 18 months to help support learning to continue."
– Jason Schilling, ATA President

Thank you to the teachers who guide me and my children to pursue a life of learning, social justice and professional service! Teachers matter, they touch lives, inspire, dry tears and serve as role models.

I thank all the teachers for the amazing job of caring for and teaching our children. I can only imagine how challenging this might be (dealing with 30 kids at a time all day, I’ld lose my mind) so I know that teachers must do it for the love of what they do and how they impact our kids positively. I greatly appreciate all the honest hard working teachers in this world. Keep up the good work. BTW our schools need more resources if we are serious about giving our kids all kids equal quality education.

    Merci Fanie,

Grâce à toi, mon fils s’est senti accepté et en confiance au point de chanter pour la première fois en publique.

    Tu fais une différence

Thank you for your time and selflessness during these times making a difference in the lives of children and families. Each day your risk and service goes a long way to supporting the future. My children are grown adults now and they are contributing everyday helping Albertan families. I am grateful for the difference to those who listened and took the time when it mattered most; those precious years of youth. Thank you.

Day in and day out, teachers inspire and guide children without hesitation. Often doing this before their own needs are met for themselves. For this, teachers are truly inspiring and true hero’s.

I had some of the world’s best teachers. How blessed was I? And I think of my wife who was one of the world’s best teachers, and I think how blessed were her students:).

I have adoration and love for my daughter who is a teacher. She has such high work ethics, puts her heart and soul into creating lessons for her “kids” regardless of the politics going on around her. What an example she is to those young minds. Awesome job Madame Shauna Benoza!

As a daughter of teachers, a teacher, and mother of a teacher, I have observed teacher impact on various levels and types of teaching. Included were legal fostering of children in need and providing other parental benefits and support. Teaching is not just a job, but a vocation and lifestyle commitment.

You’re the reason our children grow into the unknown talent they thought they never had.
Your intuitive perseverance to find that talent makes you a God!

    Thank you.

Our children have been blessed to have amazing teachers each and every year. In the last 18 months those teachers have gone above and beyond to bring them an incredible education through incredibly difficult times. In class or online, they have made each day about the students, and for that we thank them.

As a timid child, I want to thank Miss Primeau Grade 6 Cornwall ON for instilling confidence in me. As a result of her influence, I too became a teacher for 33 years and I hope I inspired my students as she did me.

    Mrs. Sarah Le
My baby boy (Riya) started kindergarten with this awesome teacher. Education is the Foundation of a child’s life and this teacher made my son love school so much that even on the weekends he wants to attend Mrs. Le’s class.

My entire professional career and the desire to become a University teacher myself was because of two teachers I had back in Winnipeg; Mr. Pewarchuck and Mr. Arkos, my Commercial Art and Fine Art teachers respectively. Thanks to them every teacher who has ever taken up this noble profession.

I’d like to thank my art teacher in junior high who always encouraged me to do my best, and helped me build my confidence in my work. Their words left a lasting impact on who I am today.

    Thanks Brother B.

You taught me that sports was better than hanging out back smoking. That being on a team meant something, where they had your back and you theirs.

And that Math was actually fun.

You’re gone now but I’ll never forget you or the lessons you taught.

I would like to thank all of my teachers.
If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am now. They always encourage me to give 100%.
