There are people in
our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'
"On behalf of Alberta's teachers, thank you, parents for all you have done over the last 18 months to help support learning to continue."
– Jason Schilling, ATA President

Thank you to all you teachers who have dealt with the constantly varying demands due to Covid. To me you are FRONT LINE WORKERS everyday; going in to teach children from every home and so many young children that are not eligible for shots yet. Thank you Thank You THANK YOU.

My daughter, Lynn, is an awesome teacher and principal. She has always put her heart and soul into ensuring her students learn and enjoy their school days in a happy, caring environment. As well she cares for and supports her amazing staff. Thank you to all the teachers for their hard work and dedication.

You are truly amazing you have been: flexible, adaptable, creative, kind, caring, empathic, resilient, courageous, forgiving, encouraging, proactive, and most of all passionate about students and community.

Teachers are often not recognized for the work they do. The impact you have on your students goes far beyond the curricular material. As teachers you set an example for your students on how to deal with the varied situations life presents. Take care of yourselves!

Thanks to the encouragement, attention, and skillful instruction I received from many of the teachers whom I was privileged to know as a student, I became a teacher myself. As I look back over nearly three decades in the classroom, I am still inspired by the warmth and kindness of those teachers.

Thank you to all teachers! Most of us have a story of a special teacher who provided more—they imparted a life changing connection to the world and a moral compass we use to navigate our lives. Mine was my kindergarten teacher who made me feel seen and heard.

    We celebrate you!!

I was a teacher/administrator for 32 years. I deeply understand the stress and demand of everyday life as a teacher. I cannot imagine what you have gone through. My friends and colleagues still teaching are all exhausted. Thank you for caring so much for our children. You deserve every accolade sent your way. Please stay strong and know you are appreciated.

To all the brave, creative, compassionate teachers out there who are challenging our children, caring for them and helping them to develop into productive members of our communities, a big salute!

Each of you is real HERO and we appreciate all you do for the success of our future leaders.

Teachers are caring and compassionate, and have shown incredible resiliency in this chaos. Once the best education system in the world, Alberta teachers now deal with a substandard support system. I hope parents are able to appreciate the stress and strain you each face every day. I certainly do.

All your efforts have not gone unnoticed. You are doing an awesome job in helping to inform the next generation of Canadians and assist in shaping their character. Thank you for your persistence despite all the obstacles you have needed to and will need to overcome. Be proud of what you do. Understand that the pebbles that you drop into the pond of learning will form ripples that touch distant shores beyond your imagination.

Thank you to Mrs. Worku, and Ms. Nelson for all that you taught my boys and their classmates last year… for seeing the kids as whole people and teaching in a way that inspires and ignites curiosity and passion for learning.
Thank you for showing up every single day, even though you must have had your own struggles and worries… thank you for helping to bring our kids through a year that could have felt pretty scary, and helping them to process and understand the changes in school and helping them to adapt to life as it currently is.
Thank you to my boys teachers this year… to Mrs. Dubitz and to all of the grade seven teachers at Vernon Barford… for being welcoming, encouraging and for continuing to educate and help our kids to learn and grow and aim to be their best selves with a big heart for others.
Thank you teachers! You are all so amazing!!

Thank you for all the great work you do to educate our youth for the uncertain future. Without teachers no one in this country would go on to post HS education and get the jobs they now have.It is one of the few careers that keeps giving long after the students are moved on.
