There are people in
our lives that make an
impact on us.
A lot of those just
happen to be teachers.
Here is a chance to say
thanks.
Please tell us who you are.
Schools were closed, then opened, then closed and opened again. Kids were sent home to quarantine and Zoom classrooms became all the norm. Teachers did as best they could. Parents, caught off guard, put in that extra effort to support their children’s learning. Often it was an overwhelming experience. But parents and teachers came to see each other in a new light.

Now with schools open and teachers back in class, it's time to reflect on what we've all been through and how we've depended on each other. And now, on World Teachers Day, let's throw teachers a well-deserved 'thank you.'
"On behalf of Alberta's teachers, thank you, parents for all you have done over the last 18 months to help support learning to continue."
– Jason Schilling, ATA President

Thank you for changing your system so you could grind your way through Covid. I know our children lost part of that individualism along the way, but you have allowed them to strive forward. Bless you all!

As I reflect on the career I’ve had I would play more with the students I had. Know that as a teacher you play an important role in the children’s lives entrusted to you, not only to teach them but to nurture their unique spirit. Teaching is an intense and demanding role that knows no bounds. You are called upon to fulfill so many people’s expectations. It can be daunting. Remember to look after yourselves, your love ones and the children that are entrusted to you. Take a night off and don’t feel guilty. Play with the kids; they will love it and equate their teacher and education as challenging but rewarding and fun. Teachers, you are valued and are doing critical work. Be proud of yourselves as we are proud of you and remember you are enough!

To all the wonderful TEACHERS in the WORLD. No words can fully express my deep appreciation – for all of your efforts & sacrifice – seen & unseen – year round. This is especially true considering the multiple ‘war zones’ & ‘dangerous’ waters you have had to teach in & navigate through.
THANK YOU for continuing to teach. The landscape of our future depends on it.
    In sincere appreciation,
    Dolina Watson
